Advertising plays a huge role in our everyday lives, whether we realize it or not. Our minds are used to seeing ads so much that sometimes we may not even realize we are viewing an ad. I don't really have any dislikes about advertising. However, what I do hate is when people interpret the wrong message from commercials. This is why I believe that everyone, even non advertising majors, should have some general education on advertising. What interests me most about advertising is how much they influence our everyday choices. Take for example the computer I am using to write this blog. I am using a 2013 MacBook Pro which my mom bought for me as a birthday gift. My mom doesn't have any knowledge on computer technology, but what she does have is an obsession with watching TV. My mom watches TV almost whenever she has free time, this means she also sees a lot of TV commercials. The video below is one of the commercials my mom viewed before making the decision to purchase my MacBook Pro. This also happens to be one of my favorite ads.
The reason this TV ad is one of my all-time favorites is because of its ability to show the world the artistic beauty behind creating a MacBook Pro. Some people like myself don't think twice about how technological devices are made. I always thought it was made in a boring factory by factory workers. However, after viewing this ad viewers like myself can learn to appreciate the art behind building a MacBook. Advertisements have the power to show people a different way of thinking.
